God Talks to Me

Updated: Aug 9, 2021

God Talks to Me and He knows my name. I can hear His voice because I am His sheep.

John 10:3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognise his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

I’ve got a new heart since Jesus saved my soul

I’ve got a new heart He washed and made me whole

Now He leads me and He guides me.

By the Spirit placed inside me

I’ve got a new heart since Jesus saved my soul.

Story: Mitch and Anna

John 10:3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognise his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

John 10:4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.

John 10:5 They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice. (NLT)

John 10:2 But the true Shepherd walks right up to the gate, and because the gatekeeper knows who he is, he opens the gate to let him in.

John 10:3 And the sheep recognise the voice of the true Shepherd, for he calls his own by name and leads them out, for they belong to him.

John 10:4 And when he has brought out all his sheep, he walks ahead of them and they will follow him, for they are familiar with his voice.

John 10:5 But they will run away from strangers and never follow them because they know it’s the voice of a stranger. (TPT)

  • He calls them by name

  • He leads them

  • They follow because they know His voice

  • How would they know that?

  • The Word – He sounds like He talks in the Word

  • How would they know if another voice is a stranger

Your heart

Romans 8:14 The mature children of God are those who are led and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”

Romans 8:16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child”! (TPT)
