Water Baptism
When you were born again, everything that needed to take place for your salvation was done by Jesus.
All you had to do was believe.
But now that you are a child of God, it's only reasonable that you would want to respond in a way that makes public your commitment to Jesus.
What is Baptism?
When Jesus was baptised, He identified with our sinful condition and wa baptised for repentance of sin on our behalf. Jesus was baptised - He was fully emersed in water. We are baptised in the same way.
Mattew 3:13-15
When we are baptised, we identify with Jesus' death, burial and resurrection and the new life that He secured for us.
Acts 11:16
What Baptism is not
Baptism doesn't cleanse us from our sin.
Baptism is not necessary for salvation.
Baptism doesn't get you a "better" form of Christianity.
Baptism simply gives you an opportunity to demonstrate to God, your family, your family, your community and all of heaven that you want to follow Jesus and live for Him.
