Rhema Links
There are three main functions that can be seen in this Scripture that give a pattern for the establishment and operation of groups like RHEMA Links:
1. The Apostles Doctrine
Life Links are under the authority of the senior pastor and will follow certain study materials. The subjects discussed will follow the teaching given in Church services and will focus on the application of these teachings to the lives of the people. The leader should prepare with a view to helping people in the group apply the Word and the teaching to their lives in a practical manner and to go to the next level of Spiritual maturity and Christian growth.
2. Fellowship
Social Links provide a context in which people can grow. Fellowship and communion were one of the elements seen in the early Church that contributed not only to personal growth but to the growth of the Church itself.
Sharing a meal as well as having Communion is part of this process, building relationship with each of the members of the group and creating an environment where old and new believers alike can feel welcome.
3. Prayer
Prayer is the key factor for growth, because it is prayer that gets God Himself involved in the life of the group. It is God who works in people's hearts to make them want to come along and participate in the life of the group. Prayer creates the atmosphere in which God can work.
Prayer is also important for the group to build unity. It is not just opening and closing the time in prayer, but setting aside time at each meeting to pray together and seek God as a group. This not only helps build unity but helps the younger Christian to connect with God and develop their own personal prayer life.
